
Most times when a superstar signs with WWE, the company owns the licensing rights to that superstar while they are under contract. The reason her signing with WWE could cause an issue with her being in EA Sports UFC 3 is due to licensing. She and Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson had confronted Stephanie McMahon and Triple H at the event. There have been rumors of Rousey signing with WWE since she appeared at Wrestlemania 31 a few years ago. While she has still been part of the UFC roster, she hasn't had any fights since losing to Amanda Nunes in 2016. She was announced as one of the cover athletes just prior to her loss to Holly Holm at UFC 193, with some stating it was due to the dreaded EA Cover Curse. Rousey, along with Conor McGregor, was the cover athlete for the last EA Sports UFC title, EA Sports UFC 2, which released back in 2016.

A representative from EA Sports spoke to Game Informer earlier today and stated she would be in the game "for the time being." That may mean she could possibly be removed from the game with a patch at some point in the future. This has led to some worrying how it will affect her appearance in the new EA Sports UFC 3, which is set to release on February 2nd.


After the event, it was confirmed that she had signed a deal with WWE. She made her way to the ring after the first ever women's Royal Rumble Match and, while eyeing the other competitors in the ring, pointed at the Wrestlemania sign.
